Seattle Business Networking Ago-go.

I’ve been having fun creating my own networking events lately.
I have a history of creating a monthly networking event but I stopped doing it about… a few months ago. Anyway, I gave it and myself a break.
Decided I was narrowing my options a bit TOO much and took a break to reflect on this. In other words: event-er’s block.
I am so glad to announce that the block is gone.
I go around to different places. Experience the food, the drink, the people, the atmosphere… and sometimes it occurs to me to hold an event at the place.
I just had another flash when I was out in Lynnwood at my mechanic’s place - Ryk Sorensen - excellent man and excellent mechanic. I was driving an odd way back to the freeway when it came to my mind to stop in at a brewery I’d visited at a networking event months ago.
Sure enough, they were open for lunch. I got a bite and interacted with one great Lady behind the bar. I had already had good experiences there before so it was natural to think of holding another event in the space.
So I put one on the calendar! On October 2nd - I’ll be at the Ellersick Brewing company in a warm and lovely Beer Garden. It will be warm…. yes. beer and a warm day… hmmm.
so come on out and mingle, mix and cause mayhem!
Gratitude vs Criticism
Tuesday, September 9th, 2008 | Featured, healthly living | No Comments
If you look at the results you get in life, they can be boiled down to either great or not so great.
Take a look at the thoughts you think normally. Are they more grateful most of the time, or are you sizing up and criticizing situations and people most of the time?
Greatfulness produces situations that give you the experience of being supported and loved by the universe.
Criticism produces resentment.
Take a look at your own thoughts. Are you carrying lots of resentments and critiques and judgements? Or are you getting what you want in your health, wealth and relationships?
Consider being more grateful for everything you have and are experiencing right now in this moment all the time. You may be surprised at how much more peaceful your body is. You may find that you get what you want a little faster and easier. You may find your health improving.
give it a try. be grateful for all you have now.
triage on the freek site

If you’ve been following my blog movements or career at all, you will know I’ve been in something of a business lul.
not that my skills and talents have suffered - it’s just the back end.
to make a long story short - I’ve been slacking on this blog.
I have posts in here that make me just want to scrap the whole thing and start fresh. Which I will be doing soon.
In update in my business news: i’ve been loving a biznik event hosted by Lisa Bradley for the last few months. I swear to god that woman has kept me from sliding off the deep end and moving to timbucktoo after a series of long naps caused by extreme procrastination. hey, never said I was perfect.
at any rate, it’s been my networking group of choice for a while. It’s quite good, I get to push my brain in to thinking of solving other people’s delemas with their business. I often offer insight to others that suprises even me - especially considering my own habits.
perhaps it’s one of those things where you’re just good at coming up with solutions to other’s problems but you can’s solve your own. OR like the accountant that can’t do her own books.
I have a million and one ideas for others businesses ANd my own business.
I have been thinking alot about marketing and sales and how to prospect and all that so i have lots of ideas to spout. But practical application - now that’s the other end of it all, isn’t it? I tend to think rather broad so getting the little tallied out tasks to be clear to me has been challenging.
nope, this site of mine is biting my ass. it makes me unhappy and I want to change it so bad. I’m thinking we need to upgrade and change the messages in my blog and spruce up my online presence.
I don’t think this website needs a facelift. oh no. this website needs a new website.
One other change - I’m proposing a sliding scale for those who want to try my massage work before committing to a series of treatments or for those that need the work but are kinda on the broke side.
what can I say? every one needs massage. I need to pay the rent on my office to it’s a mutually good deal, I think. We all win in healing. I am grateful to help others with the gifts I’ve been given in the field of massage and healing.
life is good
An injury treatment story: Plantar Fascitis
Tuesday, July 8th, 2008 | Deep Tissue, Featured, Massage, injury treatment | No Comments
I had a massage client once who had plantar fascitis as well as “no cartilage in her knees.” (quotes means it’s her that said that)
She was somewhere around 65 years old at the time, and I was about 2 years into my massage career and around the age of 23. (I’m 28 at the time of this post)
Long story short: she was thinking of going into surgery because the pain was so bad.
I told her to wait and give me a try before going under the knife. I explained about excess scar tissue and the like.
She gave it a try.
After 3 sessions she barely had pain and after about 7 sessions she decided not to see me anymore because she never got the pain again.
The sessions happened over the course of about 10 months with most of them being within 6 weeks - when she first started to see me.
I thought that was pretty awesome - especially since she was like 65 years old at the time. She was on her feet a lot too - did accounting and volunteering heavily at her church.
Her knees didn’t hurt by the end of her sessions with me as well.
In Summary -don’t get surgery for plantar fascitis or for carpal tunnel syndrome, for that matter.
Try massage first.
please
for the love of god.

Spiritual Retreat
Thursday, May 29th, 2008 | Business Insights, Featured, healthly living, stress | 2 Comments
The time has come for me to take a break. I”ll be up in a cabin in the woods for the next 2 weeks while my buddie the yoga master Mollie Wood holds down the fort.So often in life we seem to be in a race against time. We always think that there’s no time to get away. not enough money and time to get away and just do nothing but meditate or read spiritual books. I say that there are times in a person’s life where thy cannot afford NOT to go away.I will still do massage after… I love to be in practice - it humbles and inspires me. But I will be thinking alot about the plans I’ve only hinted at. I have been thinking an overhaul in the way and patterns of my life is needed. To continue the routine I’ve had for a while is out of the question. Things need to change and maybe from the outside they will not look so different and maybe they will.I will be developing my spiritual practice, plans for classes, counseling and I will possibly be facilitating my own spiritual retreats. Energy is needed for these things and when all my energy is going into being present for my clients and trying to just get by and survive -there’s little left for much else - let alone the birthing of a new lifestyle and career.Feel free to leave a comment about any interest you may have in these new developments or to just give me support. I send you all lots of love and good healing vibes!
