Happy Hour discussions in Seattle

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007 | Kink Friendly, Seattle Events, healthly living

My crew rocks!

I am still buzzing from the great conversation generated at the alt crew happy hour at the Spitfire Grill that just happened last night.
We talked about freedom in business and some great views and opinions came up. We were not short on personal stories. The talk was lively and I feel I did a most excellent job at coordinating the group’s directives.
If any of them are reading this they should definitely comment on the evening. I think it might just help us all to do that!
It was so fun. It was a surprise to get such a small group. I wonder if people didn’t come because they were intimidated by the topic of discussion?
I think it does take a bit of balls to have voice one’s opinion in an open forum of discussion, especially about freedom.

I opened with my some questions to pose and got some ideas from the bizi bee flower guy on how to proceed. When the talk started going around the room it just seemed to morph into it’s own thing. I talked about my own contemplation of freedom and how it seemed to always be a question of
Freedom
Vs
Security.

Especially in small business, we seem to sacrifice many securities for freedom. Karen, a gal who does sports photography, gave me the nod on that one.
Andrew Sengul, a pleasant young chap who’s been tearing it up in the biznik stratosphere, called us all out of our reverie to say something along the lines of security should not be the opposite of freedom that it might narrow the possibilities too much.

I loved it when Delores chimed in to speak of the spiritual side. Because of the nature of security the reality is only in our heads, our minds, our very imaginative and manipulatable minds. We can buy into an idea of what’s free or secure but what it all comes down to is: what are you creating with your thoughts, your life, the way you live… “What is reality?” What is the truth of the lifestyle you live? Are you proud that you have never received a massage in your life or do you get them all the time? And how does your body feel every day?
What are your results?
Do they make you feel Free? Secure?
Is it even important for you to think about?

The spiritual side of freedom is that we are all free – just look at nelson Mandela and look at how he found the truth that he is always free no matter what the outer conditions of his life.
Many good ideas and opinions came up during discussion night at the casa de alt-crew.
And we forced the new guy to say something. I think it was because the group was so small. I personally think he wanted to pipe in and say something but whether he did or not, I wanted to hear what he thought of the matter at hand. Hopefully we didn’t scare him off.
A great night, all in all. Tons to blog about but I don’t really want to put up a monster posting.
Good happy hour. Definitely worth the parking and the suffering of Belltown, I must say. The spitfire is so good! I think I dig the fact that I’m having my happy hour in the old sit and spin.
Seems appropriate. Even with Monday night football in the front.

Eric Koszyk From Eric Koszyk. Wow! What can I say? Sierra is a truly gifted person and therapist. She is very knowledgeable and passionate about massage. It helps that she is extremely intuitive and a very caring human being. Her space on Broadway is very warm, comforting and inviting.

As a fellow massage therapist, I highly recommend her, especially if you are looking for extensive deep tissue work which she is amazing at. You will leave her place wiser; her treatments will change your life.

Joe Shirley From Joe Shirley I still remember the first massage I got from Sierra over six months ago. My neck was chronically bugging me, and my carpal tunnel thing was acting up. She asked my permission to go for it. I said yes. It hurt. She told me to trust her, and I did. And both my neck and wrist felt great afterwards. She went right through that crap and out the other side. Amazing.

Matt HansonFrom Matt Hanson Sierra is fantastic! I felt she was really attentive to the needs I expressed about my upper-back and shoulders. I was really impressed that she could identify other problems spots quickly and how they positively affected those areas that were bothering me most. I have had several massages and she has the strength and understanding to do a incredible job.

Dennis DildayFrom Dennis Dilday I’ve had close to a hundred massages from more than a dozen different therapists and I can say Sierra’s are unique and wonderful. She relates and interacts with the layers of facia in a way others can’t. While determined to get a response from the tissues, Sierra is also tuned into her patient and keeps the experience pleasant and interesting. Clinically, she’s both confident and competent.
